Hey there! I’m Cassandra, and I’m the HSSA’s President this year. I can’t wait to represent the voice of health science students this upcoming school year and to bring your ideas to the decision table! Hi HealthSci (and everyone else!) My name is Chienye Onyeagucha and i'm a third year Nigerian international student in the BHSc progam at UOttawa (obviously). My hobbies include consuming animanga, writing, listening to music and reading. I am also the founder and current president of the Uottawa Nigerian Students' Association where i plan events to spread my culture with the entire student body. i am an outgoing and friendly person and i have grown to love being involved in school processes and extracurriculars. I'm so excited to be on the HSSA team this year and as VP Social for the 2023/2024 session, i want to make the HSSA as fun as i possibly can for all students across our program. For the first two years of my university experience, i looked forward to being a member of the team so when i got elected into office, i sat down with the president of the HSSA and said “i wanna make history” and that’s exactly what this is. I believe the hssa is an amazing initiative provided for students and i hope to plan events that will do it real justice this year! i believe somewhere in the above babble i answered the question "What would you like to accomplish this year on the HSSA?"

My name is Erika Vandervoet and I am going into my third year as a Health Science student with a minor in Biochemistry. This is my first year on the HSSA and I am so excited to be the VP of Finance for this school year! What would you like to accomplish this year on the HSSA? "This year my position in the HSSA is the VP of finance. With this position I would love to achieve a lot, I want to give the students a lot of events they actually will enjoy and get them more involved and connected to their faculty! My big goal is give an awesome Winter Formal to the students so they can mingle within their community of health science students."

Hey HSS! My name is Aliya Qureshi and I’m starting my third year of Health Sciences. In my spare time I love to read, travel, and spend time with my family and friends. I’m super excited to be the Vice President of Philanthropy this year! I am outgoing and love meeting new people, so feel free to reach out if you have any questions or suggestions for philanthropy events/fundraisers. What would you like to accomplish this year on the HSSA? My main focus is to hold events in support of charities. This year I’m looking forward to being able to raise awareness and money for a more diverse range of causes, and to advocate for charities important to Health Sciences students

"As VP Equity, I want to ensure that all students feel respected, included, and represented. I am very passionate about making sure that every student knows that their voice is important and should be heard. I want all students to know that I am here for them and to help them have an amazing experience at uOttawa."

Hey Guys! My name is Sameer Zulfiqar and I am a third year Health-Science student with a minor in Biochemistry. I can usually be found on the 3rd floor of Morriset studying but in my spare time I love reading, going on hikes, travelling, and music. What would you like to accomplish this year on the HSSA? "I’m very excited to be on the HSSA this year as I have a bunch of cool new volunteering opportunities planned. Since starting at UOttawa I have met so many students in the faculty of health science and can see that it is very diverse so my main goal is to provide a wide selection of volunteer opportunities that can appeal to everyone. I am also super excited to be planning the merchandise for the HSSA as well!"
